MARKETING 101: FUNDRAISING

This article at Entrepreneur.com, suggests a novel way to market small, inexpensive products. The profitability-to-hassle ratio of these items makes them difficult to market through normal sales channels. Retailers, for example, don't want to dedicate expensive display space to low-profit items. The answer: Fund-raisers. Not for you, the inventor or manufacturer. Rather for nonprofit organizations that sell your gadget to willing buyers who want to support their favorite museum, PTA, church or scout troop. Who has time for bake sales? Instead, let your local PTA sell your goods. This is a great thinking-outside-the-collection-bowl approach for both nonprofits and you. -- Gary Bogue
